Since 2020.

Reconciliation in action.

In a time of transformative change, the Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase (IPSS) seeks to highlight the ways that leading-edge relationships between Indigenous business and corporate Canada are making reconciliation a reality for the whole nation.

January 2020’s inaugural event, “The Declaration: Finding the Path to Shared Prosperity,” brought over 600 attendees, 40 speakers and dozens of event partners and sponsors together. The first event was inspired by transformative new legislation passed in the BC Legislature the previous year: Bill 41, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.

And in May 2021, as IPSS delivered its two-day program aimed at building recognition of progress towards shared success, the Government of Canada worked to pass the corresponding federal legislation, An Act respecting the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Bill C-15 became law in late June 2021.

IPSS completed its third year virtually and in-person at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, BC, on May 26 and 27, 2022. Built on the themes of renewal, connection and commitment, IPSS 2022 showcased exciting and inspiring stories and speakers, including Chief Terry Paul, the Hon. Jody Wilson Raybould, Chief Judy Desjarlais and more.

On June 1 and 2, 2023, IPSS gathered for its largest event yet, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The event welcomed over 1,200 attendees, more than 70 speakers and representatives from all levels of government. The themes of “purpose, relationships and vision” centred the gathering on the role of Indigenous cultural success in business success and how partnerships can support continued progress.

IPSS 2024 will return at the Vancouver Convention Centre on June 5-6, 2024. This year’s theme, “reconciliation in action,” will centre our forthcoming event agenda on practical ways to advance reconciliation, especially through the unique opportunities presented through partnerships and Indigenous equity ownership. IPSS in the news.

At IPSS 2023, IPSS Chair Chief Ian Campbell spoke with Tina House of APTN News about the powerful stories of Indigenous success through partnerships like those featured at the gathering.

IPSS is about celebrating the stories of Indigenous success across Canada and showing how Indigenous peoples are overcoming tremendous obstacles to reach achievement in business, culture and beyond. “Transformation is in every one of our stories,” said Chief Campbell.

Chief Ian Campbell and IPSS 2022 keynote speaker Chief Terry Paul of Membertou First Nation speak to Global News for prime-time coverage of event proceedings. IPSS 2022 gathered over 800 attendees and generated over $7 million in public relations value, introducing thousands of Canadians to the message of economic reconciliation through partnerships for the first time.
